Historian, author, educator. Born in 1933 in Winnsboro, Texas. Received B.A., M.A., and Ph. D. from Texas Tech University. Taught at Texas A & M, University of Arizona, Arizona State, and Arizona Western before becoming head of the history department at Oklahoma State University in 1972.
